Annual Holiday Open House and Gifty Art Sale at The Crucible.

If you are tired of the usual holiday hoopla, come shop where Santa comes in on a real flying sleigh, complete with flamethrowers, and where the elves are ten feet tall. It’s 56,000 fantastic feet of the west coast’s most innovative art studio. Watch molten bronze being cast while you sip eggnog and ponder the possibilities, surrounded by 75 of the Bay Area’s sharpest contemporary designers and modern craftspeople, who will be there to sell their work. It’s the annual Holiday Open House and Gifty Art Sale at The Crucible, and I will be there with my newest jewelry and at least one copy of my new book.

Learn about the literally hundreds of classes you can take, from blacksmithing to bike building, woodworking, glassblowing, foundry and moldmaking, kinetics, machine shop, neon and light, paperworks, stone carving, ceramics. My favorite of course is the Jewelry department, which offers 28 different classes this winter, including my own, Introduction to Polymer Clay. Solve your holiday shopping problems, support the arts, and light your own artistic fire this weekend, December 15th and 16th from 10-4. The Crucible is in Oakland at 1260 7th Street, just down the street from the West Oakland Bart.
